We Traveled for 36 Hours with a Baby and a Toddler and Are Alive to Tell the Tale

So we made it! Well actually, we've lived here for a month, it's just that I have two children under the age of three and it has taken me this long to get myself organized. Life is like that these days-- if it doesn't reduce one of the members of our family to tears, it gets pushed to the end of the list. Operating in this manner means that I'm generally just barely holding it all together, waiting for the next disaster to strike and have time for only two things at the end of the day: spending a few minutes with my awesome husband and my good old friend Pinot Noir. Maybe I should switch to Sake?

Anyway, I've decided to write a blog about our adventures here in Japan. We are stationed at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, about an hour and a half south of Tokyo, where we will live for two years! Our almost one year old and two year old keep us very busy and we're already learning that we don't exactly blend in with the Japanese. We plan to do a lot of traveling and hope to get to know the area and the people while we're here. I may not be the most timely poster, but you can expect to find my musings about everything from travel to culture to Azuki bean paste (a sad, sad impostor for chocolate!).

I'm also hoping to get the hubster to dress up as a ninja this Halloween so my blog title can have an accompanying picture. Political correctness be damned!
